Majora deku baba

A deku Baba as seen in Majora's Mask.

Deku Babas are reoccurring enemies in Zelda. They are plant like enemies usually found around forested areas. They attack in different ways based on the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's MaskEdit

In both these games Deku Babas act exactly the same. There are two types of Deku Babas. The first can not do damage unless Link runs into it because it stands stalk still. When Link defeats it it leaves behind a Deku Stick. The second type lunges at Link and when they are defeated they leave behind a Deku Nut. But these Second kind can be turned into the first kind for a short while if Link hits them with a Deku Nut before killing them.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessEdit

Deku Babas in Twilight Princess attack Link by latching on to him. While they are latched onto Link Link can not use his sword and has to wait for it to fall off. it can be killed with a couple swipes to the vine or head. Another type of Deku Baba in this game can be fought in the Forest Temple. They hang from the ceiling as well as sit from the floor. when their vine is cut instead of dieing they start chasing Link until Link hits it Two more times with his sword.
